The Mermaid

Hin`s real estate project involves reclamation of the sea. This threatens the livelihood of the residents who rely on the sea to make a living. Shan is dispatched to stop Hin and this encounter soon leads to them falling for each other. Out of his love for Shan, Hin plans to stop the reclamation. Unfortunately, Shan gets injured in an accident and vanishes into the sea.
Projek pembangunan Hin berkaitan dengan penebusgunaan laut. Ini sekaligus telah mengancam penduduk setempat yang mencari rezeki di laut. Shan telah dihantar untuk menghalang Hin dan pertemuan ini telah membawa kepada mereka jatuh cinta. Demi cinta kepada Shan, Hin merancang untuk memberhentikan projek tersebut. The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful Sea Creature:

• With Stephen Chow's very own nonsensical sense of humour mixed in this enchanting and colourful contemporary fairy tale, the film is a delightful masterpiece with a meaningful socio-environmental message.

• More than just a comedy, the movie teaches about the importance of the ecosystem and the economy aspects which are both strikingly relevant to China due to its current environmental crisis.

• The movie is definitely a lot better than how it is portrayed in the trailer, as it has so much slapstick comedy that would make you burst out laughing, which is typical coming from Chow's works.

Trivia:

• This is Jelly Lin's first ever major role who was picked from over 10,000 people who auditioned.
