Why Him?

Ned Fleming and Barb, together with their 15-year-old son Scott, go to visit their eldest daughter Stephanie, but they are shocked to find that Stephanie has a wealthy and famous boyfriend named Laird Mayhew. His personality is a bit too overwhelming for them, and this causes Ned to have a really bad impression of him, even though Stephanie insists that Laird is a nice guy and she is perfectly happy with him. Laird then reveals his plan to propose to Stephanie in the next five days, his heart set to do whatever it takes to get Ned`s blessing. So he starts by trying to win over Barb and Scott, but Ned goes out of his way to make sure Laird doesn`t succeed.

Watch this if you liked: “Meet the Parents”

The Good, the Bad and the Overprotective Father :

• The movie is pretty much an R-rated version of "Meet the Parents", but not as good or funny.

• There are a few original jokes which received giggles from the audience, but most of them are repeated or at least heard before in other movies.

• Not to say that James Franco is not funny, but his character as well as the jokes he used in this movie does not showcase his true abilities.

Trivia:

• The movie is based on the U.K. television show, "Cuckoo".
