Taking place on the Earth-like world of Eos, and happening in parallel to the opening events of Final Fantasy XV, the magical kingdom of Lucis is home to a magical crystal which holds great power, but the menacing empire Niflheim will do anything it can to make it theirs. Ongoing war happens between the two countries, but Lucis is protected by the Kingsglaive, an elite unit wielding the royal family`s magical power - under the command of King Regis Lucis Caelum CXIII. To save his kingdom, King Regis accepts terms of peace with Niflheim where he must cede all lands outside the crown city, and see his son, Prince Noctis, wed to Lady Lunafreya, the former princess of Tenebrae now captive of Niflheim.

The Good, the Bad and the Kingsglaive:

• The visuals and animations are sharp and spectacular, sometimes you don't even realise that everything is CGI.

• The story is mature and dark with plenty of action packed fights backed by beautiful graphics.

• Though the movie is based on the Final Fantasy game, you don't have to have any knowledge of it to watch or understand the movie.

Trivia:

• The movie takes place when Noctis, King Regis's son, goes on an adventure in the game.
