Set in the Phillaur district of Punjab, a non-resident Punjabi named Kanan is considered "manglik" and asked to marry a tree to resolve his condition before he can marry his childhood sweetheart, Anu. However, the tree is home to Shashi, a friendly ghost. After the "marriage", Kanan finds himself being trailed by Sashi, who is now stuck in Kanan`s world after the tree is cut down during the wedding ritual.

Berlatarkan di Phillaur di daerah Punjab, seorang lelaki Punjabi bernama Kanan boleh dikatakan seorang 'manglik' dan telah diminta untuk berkahwin dengan pokok untuk menyelesaikan keadaannya sebelum dia boleh berkahwin dengan kekasihnya, Anu. Bagaimanapun, pokok tersebut merupakan kediaman Shashi, seorang hantu wanita yang baik. The Good, the Bad and the Tree Spirit:

• The movie is an 'Indianised' version of the Hollywood animated classic, "Corpse Bride", by Tim Burton.

• The film makes a promising start in the beginning, but everything begins to fall apart when you realise that the humour is forced and that the drama is insignificant.

• With laudable CGI for a Bollywood film, the movie is watchable even though it consists a lot of borrowed plots. But ultimately, it is just an average affair.

Trivia:

• This is Diljit Dosanjh's second Hindi movie after "Udta Punjab".
