Thirteen years have passed since Koji`s father left the family following his gambling addiction. A sudden phone call from his brother alerted Koji about his father`s cancer which leaves him with three months to live. Although his mother and brother hate his father for the heavy debt he left them, Koji has only sympathy for the old man, and clings on to the memory of their shared love for baseball. At the day of his father`s funeral, Koji and his brother finally learn the life of their father from the tales of the funeral attendees.
Tiga belas tahun berlalu sejak bapa Koji meninggalkan keluarganya berikutan ketagihan judi. Secara tiba-tiba dia menerima panggilan daripada adiknya yang memberitahu bahawa bapa mereka mempunyai penyakit kanser dan hanya ada masa tiga bulan sahaja untuk hidup. Walaupun ibu dan adiknya benci bapanya yang meninggalkan mereka dengan hutang yang banyak, Koji bersimpati dengan bapanya. Pada hari pengebumian bapanya, Koji dan adiknya akhirnya mempelajari kehidupan bapa mereka menerusi kisah yang diceritakan mereka yang hadir ke pengebumian.
