Dreamy has been working hard for years in the hope of achieving her dream of becoming a movie star. Only her boyfriend is supportive of her efforts while her family tries to discourage her, with her father pressuring her about it. One day while on a movie set, she runs into Marco, a washed-up actor whose low self-esteem is causing him to become a manic depressive. She continues to do her job even though he torments her relentlessly. However, Dreamy finally gives up on her dream and moves back in with her parents. Just as she is looking for a steady job, she receives a call saying that she has been cast as the leading lady for a major movie. Now she has to choose between her dream and reality.

Filem komedi arahan Stephen Chow ini berkisarkan tentang seorang wanita bernama Dreamy yang memasang impian untuk menjadi bintang filem. Dia berusaha keras selama beberapa tahun untuk merealisasikan impiannya itu, namun gagal. Bapanya memberi tekanan kepadanya dan keluarganya juga meminta dia berhenti, kecuali teman lelakinya Charlie yang masih menyokong impiannya. Selepas banyak kali kecewa, dia ambil keputusan untuk berhenti dan mahu mencari kerja tetap. Bagaimanapun semuanya berubah apabila dia mendapat panggilan yang memaklumkan dia mendapat watak utama untuk sebuah filem arahan pengarah tersohor.
