Li Xing, a 14 yo teenager, lives in the Great Phuket district of Kunming in central China, a setting of ruins and reconstruction that illustrates the transformation of contemporary China. School brings him nothing but problems and his family, in the grip of its own torments, does not help him to solve them. One day, he finds a shelter in an underground passage where he can escape his teenage life and where strange things happen.
