8 Jul – Warner Bros. studios have confirmed that a spinoff of the hit 2013 supernatural horror film, "The Conjuring", is getting a spinoff called "Annabelle" with the film already scheduled to release worldwide in October 2014. The producers of "The Conjuring", Peter Safran and TonyDeRosa-Grund will return to produce "Annabelle" alongside "The Conjuring" director James Wan as the executive producer. However this time, "Annabelle" will be directed by "The Conjuring" cinematographer, John R.Leonetti with Gary Dauberman in charge of the screenplay. The film will circulate around the mysterious Annabelle doll from the first film which is based on a real-life Raggedy Ann Doll that the Warrens took possession of after it began to haunt its previous owners.
The upcoming horror film will star "The Tudors" drama actress, Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton, Eric Ladin, Brian Howe and "12 Years A Slave" star, Alfre Woodard. Starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, "The Conjuring" grossed over USD318 million worldwide in box office sales. "Annabelle" is purportedly one of the three spin-offs planned from the film. A direct sequel to "The Conjuring is also in the works.
