5 Feb – Donnie Yen is set to star in the big screen remake of the classic hit series, "Kung Fu".

The martial arts actor reportedly will play the role of a master martial artist who wanders the Old West to help the downtrodden, a character that was previously played in the TV series by David Carradine for three seasons from 1972 to 1975.

"Donnie Yen is both an immensely talented actor and an action film legend, and it is a privilege to have a true martial arts master leading this global film," said co-producer David Leitch. "With Donnie in place as our leading man, it will be a thrill to collaborate with him, our creative partners, and Universal in reimagining this beloved story for the big screen."

Stephen Chin wrote the screenplay, with Ed Spielman, the original creator of the '70s show as executive producer.

Donnie's last Hollywood movie was 2023's "John Wick: Chapter 4", in which he played Caine, a blind assassin and old friend of Keanu Reeves' John Wick. His next project is the movie adaptation of the video game "Sleeping Dogs".
