15 Apr – Paramount Pictures wants the beat to keep going following the success of last year's animated feature, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" by proceeding with another TMNT project. According to THR, the studio is now developing "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin", an adaptation of a popular TMNT storyline by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird seen in the recent IDW comics which will have an R-rating.
The project will be co-written by Tyler Burton Smith, most known as the scribe for the 2019 "Child's Play" film.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin" is set in a dystopian New York City, where the Turtles and master Splinter are killed off one by one by the grandson of Shredder. However, one of the Turtles survives, and vows to exact blood revenge. What's interesting is that readers have no idea which Turtle survived seeing that he carries the weapons of all four.
