Winners catch "Hummingbird"!

Jason Statham takes it upon himself to inflict justice on criminals in "Hummingbird".

13 May – Last week, Cinema Online held a special screening of Steven Knight's "Hummingbird", a week early from its release date, for our contest winners. The screening also coincided with Pakatan Rakyat's political rally at MBPJ Stadium at 8pm, but that didn't stop our fans from turning up for the movie!

The film stars Jason Statham as Joseph 'Joey' Jones', a damaged ex-special forces soldier. Homeless and on the run from a military court martial, Joseph navigates himself through London's criminal underworld and seizes an opportunity to assume another man's identity, transforming into an avenging angel in the process.

The film marks Steven Knight's directorial debut after being a screenwriter for "Dirty Pretty Things" and "Eastern Promises". The former won him several awards as well as nominations for the Academy Award for Writing Original Screenplay and the BAFTA Award for Best Original Screenplay.

So what did our readers think of the movie? Read on to find out!

Norliza Nordin: I rate the movie 4/5. I liked it because there was a lot of action, so it was very exciting, but it is definitely not a movie for children as there was excessive violence and kissing.

Matthew Wong: I rate this movie 4/5. I'm not exactly sure why I liked it, but I definitely wasn't bored watching it.
