1 Aug - It looks like the live-action adaptation of "Keluang Man" is slowly heading towards actually production, as producers are now searching for talents.
Astro Shaw recently took to social media to announce their casting mission with an ad stating that they are looking for a male lead around 21 to 40 years old, has fluency in Malay, and with a strong figure.
It's a bonus, it stated, if they have basic skills in martial arts.
"Are you the Keluang Man" that we are looking for?" the caption read. "Let's join the audition before 13 August 2023 for the lead role of our upcoming movie KELUANG MAN!"
It was reported that the upcoming project will be helmed by Anwari Ashraf Hashim of "Projek High Council" fame.
Said Astro Shaw head Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, "This iconic character is really close to our audience. We hope to find a talent who can perfectly fit the local superhero criteria through this search."
A popular animated series in the late '90s, "Keluang Man", co-created by the late Kamn Ismail, revolves around the titular character and his sidekick Tiong Man, both fighting crimes during the night while also mental hospital patients in the day.
