6 Apr – "Put on your thinking cap and become a Creative Revolutionary!"

Singapore-based global collaborative filmmaking platform, Filmwallas, and IT service company, HCL, are jointly presenting "A Cut Beyond", a one-of-a-kind short film contest which focuses on creating alternative content.

They are now looking for a creative revolutionary to illustrate the slogan "Relationship Beyond the Contract" from a new vantage point and provide it with a renewed direction through this competition.

The juried competition is open to any independent or student filmmaker across the globe and of any age.

The juries for this contest are filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor and veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi.

"Let your mind go wild," said Vidyarthi on the site's YouTube channel.

The suggested duration of the video is between 1 minute to 3 minutes, however this is not strictly mandatory.

The film need to have been created after 15 March 2017. This means that contestants aren't allowed to submit a film that has been made in the past just because it is slightly relevant to the contest.

All entries must be submitted before 15 May. The 10 films that made it to the shortlist will be announced on 15 June and the 3 winning films will be announced on 30 June.

The finalists will be contacted via email on 30 June, so participants need to ensure that a valid email address is submitted with their entry.

The first prize winners will win USD2,500, second prize is USD1,500 and third prize winners get USD1,000.

All winners and shortlisters will be eligible to participate in a workshop on filmmaking in Mumbai for free. Winners will also get an opportunity to work with HCL.

The awards and prizes will be presented at a ceremony in mid-July 2017.
