25 Apr – Fresh from working alongside Johnny Depp for "The Lone Ranger", Armie Hammer will next be partnering up with Hollywood superstar, Tom Cruise, for the film remake of "The Man From U.N.C.L.E". The movie has been confirmed to be helmed by "Sherlock Holmes" director, Guy Ritchie. Steven Soderbergh was originally slated to direct with George Clooney to lead but the latter dropped out due to a neck and back surgery, and was not really up for a physical role.
The film is based on the original TV series that ran from 1964-68. The plot revolves around Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, agents of the United Network Command for Law Enforcement who are fighting against an evil force called Thrush. Cruise is set to take up the role of Solo with Hammer playing Kuryakin. Cruise can currently be seen in "Oblivion", which is showing in theatres nationwide while Hammer's "The Lone Ranger" will be released in Malaysia and Singapore on 4 July 2013.
