27 Oct – Director Faisal Ishak has voiced his satisfaction with his latest work, "Juvana 2: Terperangkap Dalam Kebebasan". "I am very content as the "Juvana" franchise has boosted the actors who are now all grown up. So, the issues that we focused on in the second movie are not so juvenile," said the director to Cinema Online, during the movie's premiere at Cathay Cineplex, ECurve yesterday. Faisal, who once directed the popular same name television drama which he adapted into the "Juvana" movies, also lamented on the fact that both Syazwan Zulkifly (Apek) and Bront Palarae (Cikgu Raja) were unable to reprise their respective roles in the sequel. However, he was satisfied that the Cikgu Raja character portrayed by Hasnul Rahmat was able to give just as strong an impact.
Faisal also admitted that he was initially worried when the movie was rated 18 by the Malaysia's Film Censorship Board (LPF), as it might affect the movie's box office collection. "When I was informed by LPF of the rating, I was pressured at first because the average age of the "Juvana" target audience is 15 years old and above. "However, I choose to look at this from a positive view, as in this can be a good upgrading for the movie." The director did not put a high aim for his second movie, only hoping for the box office collection to be higher than the 2013 "Juvana", which took in RM2.86 million. "Juvana 2: Terperangkap Dalam Kebebasan" will be released in cinemas this 29 October.
