20 Mar – It was revealed that Denzel Washington is currently in talks to join the cast of the upcoming "Gladiator" sequel.

The actor, who has worked with director Ridley Scott in "American Gangster" back in 2007, could be collaborating again if everything goes well, though no details have been released regarding the character that Washington could be playing.

The upcoming movie, which is a follow-up to Scott's 2000 film, will see Paul Mescal playing the role of Lucius, son of Lucilla (the latter originally played by Connie Nielsen), who is the nephew of Joaquin Phoenix's Emperor Commodus.

The sequel is set for release tentatively on 22 November 2024.

Meanwhile, Washington is currently busy filming the third instalment of "The Equalizer". His recent credits include "The Tragedy of Macbeth" and "The Little Things".
